Arijana Shaal rug 152x199 – handmade Oriental rug

Arijana Shaal rug from Afghanistan

The Arijana Shaal rug is defined by its 152 × 199 cm dimensions, 7–8 mm thickness and wool material. The rug originates from Afghanistan and is handmade. Red and beige shades define the rug's colour appearance.

The Arijana Shaal rug is 152 cm wide, 199 cm long and 7–8 mm thick. The knot density is approximately 250 000 knots/m². The knot count is given per square metre, allowing comparison with handmade rugs of different sizes on this basis. This figure does not represent the total number of knots in the entire rug. The rug may also suit a bedroom, provided the available space accommodates its dimensions.

The knotted part of the rug is made of wool. The knots are attached to cotton warp threads. Handmade construction and the wool pile define the rug's structure. The direction of the fibres changes the appearance from different angles: lighter and darker colour effects can be observed on the same rug. It is therefore helpful to view product photographs from different angles together before purchasing.

The Arijana Shaal Oriental rug, also known as a Khorjin rug, is known as a modern Persian rug and is made in Afghanistan. As a handmade Afghan rug, it is characterised by both its wool pile and its knotted construction.

When choosing the Arijana Shaal rug, consider both the photographs of the actual product and its 152 × 199 cm dimensions. The presentation below provides further visual guidance on this rug type.

Caring for the Arijana Shaal rug

For regular care of the Arijana Shaal rug, use your vacuum cleaner on low suction. Work in the direction of the pile and avoid rubbing the wool surface vigorously. Remember to keep the area beneath the rug clean; moving the rug occasionally allows you to remove accumulated dust underneath.

For spilled liquids, first blot up the moisture with a clean cloth. Do not rub the wool surface vigorously or use a cleaning product unless you know it is suitable for wool. Always test your chosen cleaner on a less visible area first. Extensive or stubborn soiling, as well as full cleaning, is best left to a professional.
