Arijana Shaal rug 300x391 – handmade Oriental rug

Arijana Shaal rug: characteristics of the knotted pile

The Arijana Shaal rug is defined by its 300 × 391 cm dimensions, 7–8 mm thickness and wool material. The rug originates from Afghanistan and is handmade. The rug is burgundy and brown.

The Arijana Shaal rug is 300 cm wide, 391 cm long and 7–8 mm thick. Its knot density is approximately 250 000 knots/m². Knot density is one of the numerical characteristics of the pile's structure. Consider it alongside thickness; a thicker rug does not in itself have a higher knot density. The rug may also suit a living room, provided the available space accommodates its dimensions.

It has a knotted wool pile. The warp is made of cotton. The fibres of the handmade pile lie in a particular direction. Changes in lighting and viewing angle can therefore make the overall appearance lighter or darker. Such differences between photographs taken from opposite ends of the rug are related to the pile direction.

This Arijana Shaal Oriental rug, also known as a Khorjin rug, belongs to the modern Persian rug category. It is a handmade wool rug of Afghan origin.

The 300 cm width and 391 cm length refer to this particular rug. Alongside the illustration of the rug type, please also review the photographs of the actual product.

Arijana Shaal rug: gentle care

The handmade wool pile requires gentle cleaning. When vacuuming the Arijana Shaal rug, select the lowest setting and work in the direction of the pile. Move the rug occasionally so that you can clean the area beneath it. Regular inspection of the wool rug also plays a role in preventing moth damage.

Prompt, gentle action is important when treating a stain. Try to remove fresh soiling with a slightly damp cloth, without soaking or vigorous rubbing. Use only a cleaner suitable for wool rugs, following the manufacturer's instructions and testing it first. For more extensive cleaning, choose a professional experienced in treating handmade rugs.
