Extra-long hand woven Chobi Kilim runner rug 105x686 cm

Afghan-woven Chobi Kilim, 105 × 686 cm

The Chobi Kilim runner is 105 cm wide and 686 cm long, giving overall dimensions of 105 × 686 cm. This hand woven Afghan Kilim is made from 100% wool. Its orange and green colour scheme is a feature of this specific textile. The extra-long shape and approximately 4–5 mm thickness together characterise this rug.

The video introduces the making and origins of Chobi Kilim rugs.

This woollen Kilim has a flat-woven surface. Weft yarns cross the warp yarns stretched on the loom, creating the textile's structure. During hand weaving, the yarns are worked together to form the textile without a separate knotted pile. The Chobi Kilim's approximately 4–5 mm thickness relates to this construction. The production photograph offers an insight into making the woven wool rug.

Weaving is followed by washing and drying the Chobi Kilim. After finishing, the runner joins CarpetDepo's range. Washing during production is not a guide to cleaning at home: subsequent care of the wool textile calls for gentle dust removal and careful stain treatment. For a thorough clean, we recommend help from a rug-cleaning specialist.

Material of the 105 × 686 cm Chobi Kilim

This 105 × 686 cm woven rug covers approximately 7.20 m². The 100% wool material features a orange and green colour scheme. The Chobi Kilim is an Afghan rug type. The flat-woven construction and wool material together determine the care it needs: regular, gentle dust removal and careful stain treatment.

Full-view product photographs show the entire rug, while close-ups show details of the wool surface. The rug's own photograph series helps you get to know your chosen textile. The illustration in the long description introduces the Chobi Kilim type.

Cleaning and purchasing the 105 × 686 cm Kilim

Choose a careful cleaning method for this hand woven wool rug. A vacuum cleaner on low suction can be used for everyday dust removal. Use a slightly damp cloth for small marks, taking care to avoid soaking the textile. Whenever possible, treat stains before they dry.

Even a wool-suitable cleaner should only be used after testing it on a small, inconspicuous area. If the entire Kilim needs cleaning or a stain is difficult to treat, seek professional help. Hanging up the textile and beating it with a carpet beater can damage the hand weaving. The accompanying photograph illustrates this cleaning method, which should be avoided.

The hand woven rug is available with delivery within the EU in 3–7 working days. Delivery costs €14 on orders below €173 and is free from €173. The purchase includes a 30-day right of withdrawal and a one-year warranty. Returns within the EU are free; you can read the conditions at the link at the end of the short description.
