Aikat rug 288x200 – handmade modern Persian rug

Aikat rug: characteristics of the knotted pile

The Aikat rug is defined by its 200 × 288 cm dimensions, 7–9 mm thickness and wool material. The rug originates from Afghanistan and is handmade. The rug features a blue and beige colour palette.

The Aikat rug is 200 cm wide, 288 cm long and 7–9 mm thick. Thickness is an independent characteristic of the pile, while width and length describe the rug's footprint. Checking these together before ordering gives you a clearer picture of the selected rug. This size may also be suitable for a living room.

The pile is handmade from wool yarn. The appearance of the wool surface may change with the viewing angle. This is due to the direction of the knotted fibres: the rug reflects more light from one direction and may look darker from the other. It is therefore worth comparing product photographs taken from different directions.

The Aikat rug is known as a modern Persian rug and is made in Afghanistan. This Oriental rug combines wool material with handmade craftsmanship.

When choosing the Aikat rug, consider both the photographs of the actual product and its 200 × 288 cm dimensions. The presentation below provides further visual guidance on this rug type.

Aikat rug: gentle care

Protecting the wool fibres should be your first consideration when cleaning the Aikat rug. Vacuum on a low setting, following the direction of the pile. Clean beneath the rug regularly and occasionally check the less visible areas. Regularly check the less visible parts of the rug for soiling as well.

Prompt, gentle action is important when treating a stain. Try to remove fresh soiling with a slightly damp cloth, without soaking or vigorous rubbing. Use only a cleaner suitable for wool rugs, following the manufacturer's instructions and testing it first. For more extensive cleaning, choose a professional experienced in treating handmade rugs.
