The Bidjar carpet is one of the oldest carpet types in Persian carpets. One of the main motifs of the Tabriz carpet is the medallion pattern. Bidjar is a world famous carpet making centre in Iran and the world. The craft of carpet making has been passed down from generation to generation. The traditional themes of Bidjar carpets are ornate designs with the following dominant background colours: cream, red or navy blue. The themes of Bidjar carpets are often taken from the works of great oriental poets. The carpets often depict falconry, wild lions, palaces, mosques, battle scenes or the four seasons. As it is a delicate product, we recommend it as a living room carpet or bedroom carpet.
