Guchan carpets are made in north-eastern Iran in the Iranian Kurdish-inhabited area. Guchan carpets are made of wool. They are characterized by deep, intense colours and their designs are Kurdish and Turkmen patterns. They are carpets made by nomads. Because of the nomadic weaving method, the carpets are sometimes uneven in shape. Beautiful medallions and garlands decorate Guchan carpets.
