Aikat rug 237x170 – handmade modern Persian rug

Aikat rug: characteristics of the knotted pile

The 170 × 237 cm Aikat rug originates from Afghanistan. It is handmade with a wool pile and is 7–8 mm thick. The rug features a beige and brown colour palette.

The Aikat rug is 170 cm wide, 237 cm long and 7–8 mm thick. Its knot density is approximately 200 000 knots/m². This value expresses the number of knots per unit of surface area. Thickness is a separate characteristic: the two figures describe different aspects of the knotted construction. The rug may also suit a living room, provided the available space accommodates its dimensions.

The pile is handmade from wool yarn. The warp is made of cotton. The knotted fibres form the surface of the rug that you walk on. The direction of the fibres affects how they reflect light: the same surface may appear lighter from one end and darker from the opposite direction. Please bear this in mind when comparing.

The Aikat rug is known as a modern Persian rug and is made in Afghanistan. This Oriental rug combines wool material with handmade craftsmanship.

When choosing the Aikat rug, consider both the photographs of the actual product and its 170 × 237 cm dimensions. The presentation below provides further visual guidance on this rug type.

Cleaning advice for this wool rug

Regular, gentle vacuuming is the basis of caring for the Aikat rug. Set the vacuum cleaner to low suction and move the head in the direction of the wool pile. Keep the area beneath the rug clean as well. Avoid vigorous rubbing of the wool surface and, where possible, treat soiling before it dries.

Treat fresh soiling as soon as possible with a clean, slightly damp cloth. Do not rub the stain vigorously or soak the rug. Choose only a cleaner suitable for wool and follow its instructions for use. Test on a less visible area first; for stubborn stains or more extensive cleaning, consult a professional experienced with handmade rugs.
