Aikat rug 280x198 – handmade modern Persian rug

Introducing the 198 × 280 cm Aikat rug

This Aikat rug measures 198 cm in width and 280 cm in length. The handmade wool rug originates from Afghanistan and is 7–8 mm thick. The rug is beige and burgundy.

The Aikat rug is 198 cm wide, 280 cm long and 7–8 mm thick. Its knot density is approximately 200 000 knots/m². This value expresses the number of knots per unit of surface area. Thickness is a separate characteristic: the two figures describe different aspects of the knotted construction. The rug may also suit a living room, provided the available space accommodates its dimensions.

The knotted part of the rug is made of wool. The knots are attached to cotton warp threads. Handmade construction and the wool pile define the rug's structure. The direction of the fibres changes the appearance from different angles: lighter and darker colour effects can be observed on the same rug. It is therefore helpful to view product photographs from different angles together before purchasing.

The Aikat rug is known as a modern Persian rug and is made in Afghanistan. This Oriental rug combines wool material with handmade craftsmanship.

When choosing the Aikat rug, consider both the photographs of the actual product and its 198 × 280 cm dimensions. The presentation below provides further visual guidance on this rug type.

Cleaning the handmade wool pile

Protecting the wool fibres should be your first consideration when cleaning the Aikat rug. Vacuum on a low setting, following the direction of the pile. Clean beneath the rug regularly and occasionally check the less visible areas. Regularly check the less visible parts of the rug for soiling as well.

Prompt, gentle action is important when treating a stain. Try to remove fresh soiling with a slightly damp cloth, without soaking or vigorous rubbing. Use only a cleaner suitable for wool rugs, following the manufacturer's instructions and testing it first. For more extensive cleaning, choose a professional experienced in treating handmade rugs.
