Aikat rug 121x177 – handmade modern Persian rug

Aikat rug: handmade from wool

The Aikat rug is defined by its 121 × 177 cm dimensions, 7–8 mm thickness and wool material. The rug originates from Afghanistan and is handmade. Beige shades define the rug's colour appearance.

The Aikat rug is 121 cm wide, 177 cm long and 7–8 mm thick. Its knot density is 180 000–220 000 knots/m². Knot density is one of the numerical characteristics of the pile's structure. Consider it alongside thickness; a thicker rug does not in itself have a higher knot density. The rug may also suit a bedroom, provided the available space accommodates its dimensions.

The pile is handmade from wool yarn. The warp is made of cotton. The appearance of the wool surface may change with the viewing angle. This is due to the direction of the knotted fibres: the rug reflects more light from one direction and may look darker from the other. It is therefore worth comparing product photographs taken from different directions.

The Aikat rug is known as a modern Persian rug and is made in Afghanistan. This Oriental rug combines wool material with handmade craftsmanship.

When choosing the Aikat rug, consider both the photographs of the actual product and its 121 × 177 cm dimensions. The presentation below provides further visual guidance on this rug type.

Cleaning the handmade wool pile

Regular, gentle vacuuming is the basis of caring for the Aikat rug. Set the vacuum cleaner to low suction and move the head in the direction of the wool pile. Keep the area beneath the rug clean as well. Avoid vigorous rubbing of the wool surface and, where possible, treat soiling before it dries.

Prompt, gentle action is important when treating a stain. Try to remove fresh soiling with a slightly damp cloth, without soaking or vigorous rubbing. Use only a cleaner suitable for wool rugs, following the manufacturer's instructions and testing it first. For more extensive cleaning, choose a professional experienced in treating handmade rugs.
